Footwear clusters needed near national highways: Gadkari

Highlighting the need to diversify and set up footwear clusters beyond big cities, Indian minister for road transport and highways and micro, small and medium enterprises Nitin Gadkari recently said the government may establish a few such clusters near national highways. He was addressing a gathering at the 5th India International Footwear Fair in New Delhi.
The fair was organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
Gadkari said the government is focused on reduction of logistics, capital and power costs to provide the necessary impetus to the industry, according to an ITPO press release.
