Google working on improved smart garment
Google has reportedly been granted a patent on a smart clothing that will have multiple points to give haptic feedback instead of just one point where the user may or may not feel it. It may offer feedbacks for an incoming notification or when someone taps on the touch sensitive parts and the technology can be used in jackets, shirts or pants.

The haptic feedback mechanism is integrated within the garment and includes a vibration source to which a transmission structure is coupled. A controller is configured to control the mechanism to provide haptic feedback by causing the vibration source to distribute vibration to multiple vibration points within the transmission structure, several tech portal reported quoting the patent abstract.

Google had introduced a similar product last year in partnership with Levi’s. The firm introduced ‘Commuter Trucker Jacket’ that used company’s own Project Jacquard software. The jacked has touch sensitive features and the ability to let users control music playback, information about their commute and more. (DS)
