India's UP state to set up 1st dedicated footwear park In Kanpur

India’s Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will set up the state’s first dedicated footwear park in Kanpur to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and boost the sector, Invest UP, the state’s investment promotion and facilitation agency, recently announced on X (formerly Twitter).

The park will manufacture sports shoes, casuals, sandals, ballerinas, PVC footwear and finished leather goods.

Designed as a plug-and-play industrial zone, it will offer ready-to-use factory sheds and essential infrastructure like electricity, water and sewerage.

The initiative will reduce start-up costs and set-up time, encouraging entrepreneurs and strengthening the state’s position as a major manufacturing hub, as per a statement.

The park will also feature a common facility centre, offering shared amenities.
