The ministry of commerce & industry, Government of India, has raised duty-free entitlement for import of trimmings, embellishments and footwear components for leather as well as synthetic footwear from 3 per cent to 5 per cent of FOB value of export of previous financial year. The new duty-free entitlement would also be applicable to other leather products.

“Duty free entitlement for import of trimmings, embellishments and footwear components for footwear (leather as well as synthetic), and other leather products upto 5 per cent of FOB value of export of previous financial year,” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a corrigendum to notification number 09/2015-20 dated May 28, 2018.
