Baroness Karren Brady recently stepped down from her position as chairman of Taveta Investments, the holding company for Sir Philip Green’s UK retail empire that includes Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Dorothy Perkins. Sharon Brown, non-executive director in the company's board, had also resigned, British media reported citing a company statement.

Earlier this month, Brady had said she would not resign from Taveta following revelations about staff complaints in a newspaper.

In the past, she has consistently condemned powerful men who have been accused of sexual harassment.

Sir Philip paid a female executive more than £1 million as part of a settlement agreement after she accused the retail tycoon of groping her in a series of allegations that were only disclosed after a six-month legal battle. (DS)
