Chieftex to launch new anti-UV product range at Performance Days

For the upcoming Performance Days road show in November 2011, Chieftex will be launching a new anti-UV product range combining total protection from the sun's harmful rays with an innovative cooling effect that provides extra comfort in hot weather conditions.

The market for UV-protection continues to expand as outdoor athletes and brands come to realize the importance of sun protection and fabric suppliers, such as Chieftex, develop innovative products to address these concerns. The Taiwanese company's latest addition to the dynamic market segment is a fabric range that pairs sun protection with a cooling effect, helping athletes stay comfortable however high the mercury rises.

To achieve the dual performance, Chieftex combined two yarns: a UV-blocking filament and a full dull polyester filament with a special cross-section that cools the body. A nano-sized cooling mineral is integrated into the filament to boost the cooling capacity of the fiber. The special cross section improves humidity diffusion and moisture release, which contribute to cooling the body during exercise.
