Vietnam garment exporters seek orders from Japan

Dec '11
Vietnam's garment and textile exporters are now seeking orders from Japan, as they are unsure about getting enough orders for the later part of 2012.

The country's garment and textile exporters are currently readying to deliver their goods in early 2012, but at present, they do not have orders in hand for later part of next year.

One garment manufacturing firm said several buyers have consented to import goods from their company, but are yet to place specific orders for the same.

The company says it will have sufficient amount of orders to be executed by March or April next year, but it has not received orders for the remaining part of the year.

Apprehending that European customers, who have promised to buy goods, would bargain before making a final decision, the firm is now seeking orders from Japan.

During January to November this year, Vietnam exported textiles and garments worth US$ 12.78 billion, registering an increase of 27.5 percent year-on-year, according to the General Department of Customs.
