Eschler winter 2013/14: new start for traditional brand

As a consequence of the substantial worsening of the global economical condition, family-run company Eschler decided on a relocation of its Swiss production plants to its existing subsidiaries in Germany and Thailand. The brand will strengthen its market position as specialist pioneer by increasing the focus on functional material for elite as well as recreational sportswear, for Ski Alpine and Ski Nordic, and setting up a unique technology and innovation centre in Switzerland.

The new focus on outstanding, highly innovative fabrics is, of course, strongly reflected in Eschler's sportswear collection 2013: Eschler will no longer produce circular knits, but concentrate on warp knitwear and special laminates within the three layer ecs system (Eschler Comfort System).

Affected by the tough economic condition worldwide, 85 year-old textile manufacturer Eschler has relocated its production of sports textiles to the subsidiary plant in Frommern, Germany, while establishing a centre of innovation and technology in its home of Bühler, Switzerland. The transfer to Germany will be completed by Mid 2012.

The new focus of the brand also includes a severe reduction of the product range: Eschler underlines its pioneering status as manufacturer of high-tech knitwear and focuses on the development of high performance sportswear.

(1) e1 FLASH: innovative, unique, and individual
Elastic warp knit are the key focus of Eschler's new winter collection. The brand extends its double-layer product category “Flash”, which merges a Polyamide/Elastane outer and a Polyester material on the inside. This unique combination ensures outstanding moisture management, abrasion resistance and aerodynamics. For added comfort, Eschler adapts the material individually to the client's request: additionally, carbon fibres can be integrated for further optimisation of the temperature management. Eschler also offers Flash with coldblack: the special finishing technology for textiles by Schoeller Technologies which reduces heat build-up and provides reliable protection from UV rays. It reflects infrared heat rays, the textiles heat up less and thus significantly optimise the heat management. Of course, Flash is also available with both – carbon fibres as well as coldblack.

Further, Eschler presents smooth, structured Polyester/Elastane fabrics in this category, which feature a very fine, tight surface structure. The material is therefore opaque as well as snagging resistant – important properties especially after printing or for unprinted (white) textiles. The Flash fabrics are ideal for transfer printing since they have great colour absorbing properties and are thermo stable – the material will therefore not shrink during the printing process.

(2) e3 laminates with ceramic coating
Always determined to develop new innovations and to enhance the performance of athletes, Eschler integrates its expertise from professional skiwear in its coherent range of high fashion laminates for luxurious skiwear. With many new fabrics, the Polyurethane foam laminates are a highlight in winter 2013/14.
