Marimekko adds two more new stores in Sweden

In Stockholm, a gallery-type store opens its doors in the creative area of SoFo. This store represents a special kind of Marimekko store, just like the newly opened shops in the design district of Helsinki and at the world's first pop-up mall in London, Boxpark Shoreditch.

Every month, the SoFo store will introduce different fascinating facets of Marimekko's design philosophy by showcasing spearhead products and experimental launches in a gallery-type style and setting.

In Gothenburg, the second biggest city in Sweden, Marimekko will open a two-storey store on the corner of the busiest shopping streets on 12 May 2012.

“The positive experiences and recent openings in Scandinavia have encouraged us to continue to grow our own store network in Sweden. With these two very special stores, we are excited to further increase our brand awareness – and offer interesting and even surprising new perspectives on it", says Sales Director Päivi Lonka.

In addition, Marimekko has three existing company-owned stores in Sweden: one in the centre of Malmö and two in Stockholm: at Norrmalmstorg and at the Sturegallerian mall.
