Italian Rekord SAT Man to receive Innovation Award

La Fonte's new Rekord pad, based on LF SAT, La Fonte Shock Absorption Technology, has received an award in the Innovation category of the upcoming PERFORMANCE DAYS show in Munich. A confirmation of the Italian company's efforts to produce state-of-art pads for the world of cycling.

For the new Rekord SAT Man pad, La Fonte has combined the most technically advanced foams, fabrics and technologies. Rekord SAT Man was developed in collaboration with the Bioengineering Centre of the “Politecnico di Milano” University. The focus of the research project was to find a way to counter the negative vibrations generated by impact with the ground. The study led to the development of LF SAT, La Fonte Shock Absorption Technology, a special high-density open-cell polyethylene foam offering a combination of maximum protection and shock absorption to neutralize negative vibrations.

The new LF SAT technology is being ushered in by the Rekord Man pad, a new high-end product boasting a revolutionary three-dimensional design. The high-performance shock-absorbing foam is placed in key pressure points in the perineal and ischiatic areas, and distributes and dissipates close to 90% of the energy generated by impact. LF SAT boasts exceptional resistance to constant compression, a property guaranteed for the entire life of the product. In addition, LF SAT is soft, flexible, lightweight, breathable and moldable.

The outside fabric of the Rekord Man pad is made with Coolmax to wick moisture away from the body, provide thermoregulation and quick drying properties. The fabric is hygienic and skin-friendly for enhanced wearer comfort. In addition, La Fonte applies a Polygiene treatment to the pad. This innovative patented antimicrobial technology is based on silver ions to inhibit the growth of micro-organisms. Extensive testing has proven Polygiene's superior performance in reducing bacteria, and it has a permanent effect.

Like all La Fonte pads, Rekord SAT Man can be printed with an exclusive custom motif. This service is a way to create original and distinctive designs. The company's sublimation process uses a water-based, non-toxic and environmentally friendly selection of colors. BlueSign in Germany and Chelab in Italy have tested the products and guarantee the absence of toxic or carcinogenic substances. Comparative lab tests have confirmed that Rekord SAT Man is one of the best products on the market offering maximum consumer safety.
