Quieter: While fabric technology was allowing manufacturers to make lighter weight waterproofs, featuring laminated waterproof-breathable membranes, most were stiff and noisy and, according to some Tour professionals who preferred not to wear them, were a bit like 'wearing a crisp packet.' ProQuip set about creating a 'virtually silent' waterproof for The 2006 European Ryder Cup Team at The K Club, and the result was Silk Touch - the lightest and quietest golf rain suit ever produced. More like soft parachute silk than a crisp packet.

Stretchable: As top professional golfers became more athletic, so the cut, drape and playing characteristics of performance fabrics had to evolve.
