Nike launches new kit for Czech Republic's football club

AC Sparta Prague's home and away kit design for 2012/2013 remains the same, but a third kit has been introduced to celebrate club’s history and heritage.

Designs for all three kits feature traditional club colors. At home, players will wear iconic red jerseys with a dark red, geometrical pattern. The away kit is in traditional yellow. The new version of the kit is a two-tone edition of white that has been used as a third color on Sparta shirts throughout the club's history. The shirt's modern round collar is red, coordinating with red stripes on the sleeves and hemline to celebrate "Red Sparta." A message inside the back of the neck reads "1912," which pays homage to the club's first home title and inspires a new generation of players.

"We like the clean design of the new jerseys," said Ladislav Krejci at the photo shoot for the new kit. "I hope it will bring us luck and success in the new season."

Nike’s most environmentally friendly and innovative kit ever

Each kit is made of 13 recycled PET bottles. This innovative manufacturing process reduces energy consumption by up to 30 percent compared to manufacturing traditional polyester. Since 2010 Nike has used an estimated 115 million recycled plastic bottles to create its high performance kits.

The kits are made out of 23 percent lighter fabric with 20 percent stronger knit structure than Nike’s previous kits. Nike Dri-FIT technology wicks moisture from athletes to help keep them cool and dry on the pitch.

Kits have bonded re-enforced T-bar junctions that support critical seams on the shirt and shorts and inner welded seams with a flat finish construction to improve comfort and performance. Temperature regulation is helped by ventilation zones -- a series of tiny laser-cut holes from the under arms to the waistband, allowing air to circulate to keep players comfortable.

Another addition to the Sparta collection this year is a new line of apparel with ACS graphics. Fans now express their passion for the club with a range of products including polo shirts and Nike N98 jackets in club colors.
