Apparel retailer City Sports' CEO Jeff Connor resigns

"After 22 rewarding years as part of the City Sports team, it's time for me to make a change," said Connor, who was named CEO in December of 2008. "At this juncture, it's best for City Sports to make room for a new perspective.  I have enjoyed being part of the company's tremendous growth and success over the past two decades."

Nearing its 30th anniversary in 2013, City Sports' growth hit a new high this past year with the launch of five new retail locations, including the buzzed-about shop in Burlington, Vt. that opened in May.

City Sports recently topped two of Boston's most revered annual retailer lists, winning 2012 honors from Boston Magazine and The Improper Bostonian for Best Men's Fitness Clothing and Best Sporting Goods respectively.
