Uniqlo continues its US hiring and expansion

Uniqlo, the global clothing retailer, announced it will open their new Paramus, New Jersey, store in the Westfield Garden State Plaza, one of the top shopping malls in the U.S., on September 28, 2012.

Opening just in time for the holiday shopping season, the new store will occupy an impressive 43,000 square-foot space with two stories, a separate dedicated store entrance and a prominent façade. Currently the brand’s only U.S. mall store, this will serve as the prototype for Uniqlo’s many future shopping mall locations in the U.S.

Leading up to the opening, beginning August 27 through September 27, Uniqlo will host a pop-up store experience for consumers inside the Westfield Garden State Plaza called the Uniqlo POP-UP CUBE. The Uniqlo POP-UP CUBE will be located at the food court, and will give shoppers a chance to purchase Uniqlo’s iconic product —Premium Ultra Light Down Jackets. Shoppers can also enter for a chance to win a total of 100 lucky gifts which can only be redeemed at the Uniqlo Garden State Plaza store once it opens.

To staff the new store, Uniqlo is currently hiring more than 220 full-time and part-time employees at all levels. This will be the company’s fourth U.S. retail location with their fifth U.S. store scheduled to open this fall in San Francisco. There are currently three Uniqlo stores in New York City.

The store will showcase the complete offering of Uniqlo products including men’s and women’s basics, Heattech, Premium Ultra light Down, an endless array of colorful cashmere, as well as the new kids collection.
