Lululemon athletica continues with global expansion plans

Lululemon athletica, the sportswear specialist from Vancouver, Canada, is continuing with its plans of global expansion. The firm is planning to open over 35 corporate-owned stores plus two outlets worldwide in the fiscal 2012.
As part of its international expansion, the clothing manufacturer has already launched a showroom in London and is planning to open another in Hong Kong.
However, the firm will remain committed to its multipurpose athletic apparels and is not going to shift its focus to fashion garments as of now.
Founded in 1998, Lululemon athletica manufactures yoga, running, dancing and other active wear. Along with its booming e-commerce business, the firm operates around 137 stores in Canada, the US and Asia.
During the first two quarters of fiscal 2012, Lululemon’s net revenue increased by 42 percent to Ca$ 568.3 million from $399.1 million in the same period of fiscal 2011.
