The OVS AW12-13 Collection for women presents lush shades of plum, burgundy, emerald greens, ochres and deep blacks. This vast color pallete is visible in houndstooth print coats, red cloche hats, thick cable knit sweaters and color block jumpsuits and beautifully cut pea jackets.
Asymmetrical touches in dresses, oversize volumes in jersey garments and ultra-fitting trousers are the characteristics of this collection, which turns out to be a tribute to the 1980s, resulting in a “pop style” coloured strictly in white, grey and black. Mixing the lengths and the volumes is absolutely essential: maxi-cardigans and stretch miniskirts, spotted viscose dresses with leggings, large T-shirts worn over 5-pocket stretch jeans.
The clean lines in this collection are emphasized by the vivid colour tones, such as bright green, fuchsia, turquoise and electric blue. The fit of the garments follows the lines of the body and gives a feeling of extreme comfort. Lightweight knitwear and jersey items combine effortlessly with knee-length pencil skirts or trousers slightly flared at the bottom. Dresses are pulled in at the waist, just like in the one-piece playsuit designed with the same features. One concession to black is made in the three-piece suit; jacket, trousers and skirt.
The inspiration comes from the most elegant, chic surroundings of the ‘70s, determined by little pieces where the details make all the difference. Knitwear includes tops with batwing sleeves or turtlenecks embellished with applications. Soft movements in fabrics can be found in georgette blouses or jackets with draped closure. Dresses are created either in tricot or in jersey with geometric prints. The colour range offers delicate contrasts, such as camel and creamy white, and bright ones, such as petrol blue and cornflower blue.
Black and white dominate this series of garments, both alone and together in prints and jacquard weaves. The cloth overcoat reproduces the houndstooth check design in gigantic patterns. Little tricot jumpers and very feminine blouses are designed to be close-fitting on the upper body. Dresses are retro in taste and play with the contrasts between colours and fabrics on the top and bottom halves. Legs can be exposed, under miniskirts and mini shorts, or covered in leggings and jeans.
