Yandy signs Candace Smith as new face of lingerie line

The creation of the one-of-a-kind collection, exclusively created by and sold at Yandy, was the perfect starting point in working with Smith. "We love the energy and vibrancy this new line has brought to our site and when designing the items, we knew we wanted an energetic and vibrant model to show off the products," said Chad Horstman, Yandy CEO. "When we were shown Candace's portfolio, we knew she was it."

Not only does Smith's look and energy match the collections overall feel, her past experience in modeling and acting made her an ideal candidate. Smith has most recently appeared in movies like "End of Watch" with Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena and "Gimme Shelter" with Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens. She has also appeared on several television shows like "Joey", "Entourage" and "Heroes". "Not only did Candace's overall look fit what we were trying to represent with the Yandy Candy line, but we knew with her background in film and television, her ability to show animation and character would shine through and we were definitely not disappointed," added Horstman.

Working with Smith marks another milestone for the online store. In the industry, the African-American market is often overlooked by lingerie manufactures when it comes to images used in marketing merchandise. Yandy has been striving for years to make sure this market is represented and found working with Smith to be the first step in the right direction.

"We found it completely ludicrous that this huge and important demographic of shoppers wasn't being targeted in our industry. When we created this new line, we insisted that an African-American model be used," said Horstman. "Having not really been able to have this type of control in the past, we jumped at the opportunity with this new, Yandy exclusive collection to represent African-American women on our site."

As the site continues to expand and grow, it is the goal of the sites major players to continue the use of women of different races in site images. "This may be the first time we have worked exclusively with an African-American model but it most certainly will not be the last," concluded Horstman.

The Yandy Candy collection features 12 neon lingerie items in a variety of styles including chemises, bra and panty sets and camisoles.
