Indian e-tailer Flipkart forays into women's clothing

A few months after foraying into menswear, India's biggest e-commerce business site Flipkart is now diversifying its product portfolio by launching a separate womenswear category.
 
The online retailer has introduced nearly 55 women’s western and ethnic wear brands on its site, joining the list of other portals like Jabong and Myntra that offer women’s apparels.
 
The web store’s newly launched category will feature a range of stylish and traditional feminine clothes from labels like French Connection, United Colors of Benetton, Jealous21, Lee, Wrangler, Allen Solly, Biba, Global Desi and Mother Earth.
 
In October 2012, the online portal had debuted into the world of apparels by introducing its first-ever men’s garment segment.
 
Launched some five years ago, Flipkart offers books, movies, mobiles, games, clothes, cameras as well as personal beauty and baby care products.
