Rather than pushing products that they make, Indian textile exporters should upgrade their skill of identifying the needs of different markets and accordingly make products to cater to the demand of that market, a five-member team of eminent designers and branding experts from Australia suggested during an interactive session with Tirupur textile exporters.

The piece of advice is true particularly with regard to Australian market, where Indian textile exporters have still not been able to acquire a considerable market share, The Hindu quoted the delegation as saying.

Melbourne-based designer and business analyst, Chole Kerr noted that India presently contributes only 2.7 percent of Australia’s total textile and clothing imports.

The meeting was arranged by Hydra Confedera, a consortium of 35 Tirupur-based exporters constituted recently with an intention of building a brand.

The consortium also intends to hold such interactions with European technocrats, R. Girish, Chief Executive Officer of Hydra Confedera informed media.
