Splash launches F/W collection for men & women

It is a season of re-invention, rejuvenation and exploration, where the wardrobe reflects prominent shades of classy, classic and sexy. Taking inspiration from the previous season the AW’13 collection is an interesting mix of dramatic atmosphere and masculine style.

Unique hero pieces like the tuxedo, sequin dress, a short evening jacket, leather pants or a leather jacket are found throughout and showcased in luxurious fabrics like wool, silk, leather or velvet.

The Splash AW’13 collection picks on key trends like ‘Dark Romance’, ‘Just’ and “Marvel’ for women while ‘Town & Country’ remains common to both and specific trends to men are ‘Winter Dandy’, ‘Bespoke & Varsity Sports’.  

‘Dark Romance' as a trend features a collection that takes inspiration from the era of decadence and extravagance with pieces like military inspired jackets, lace gowns and dresses and punk inspired youthful tartan checks.

Gold embellishments, military detailing, sheer layering along with leather trims are integral highlights of this collection which add that feel of edginess to the looks. Dark hue shades like black, red, gold, royal blue, purple and emerald are prominent while smoking jackets, flapper dresses and tops, slinky gowns, tailored trousers paired with shaped jackets and peplum tops are the standout pieces.

The 60’s make a comeback with the 'Town & Country' trend for women that has an old world charm which is classic and chic. Subtle colors like green, mustard and brown, cream, dusty rose, dull blues and grey are the core of this collection, while emphasizing a sophisticated take on countryside living key pieces like boxy and plaid jackets, shift dresses in wallpaper prints, antique coloured tops and plaid trousers form the trend.

Taking the ideals of functionality and simplicity a step further Splash translates ‘Just’ a key trend for the season with non-fussy silhouettes and unisex shapes. Oversized jackets and tops in drop shoulder or boxy cuts are teamed with longer length skirts and dresses in a colour palate of muted shades. Timeless pieces which are rich but not extravagant find favor with the urban fashion aficionado.

Still reminisce the school girl look and wish those days of carefree dressing would come back? ‘Marvel’ yet another prominent trend of the season brings forth a collection that is re-imagined from a school girl’s essential through a modernistic and minimal eye.

Cropped jackets, pleated skirts, coated sweaters and buttoned blazers borrow from this prim and proper apparel but there is edginess to the designs. Glitter ball looks with sequins and sparkle are created for dressing as ladies but acting like girls. An unusual color palette, prints and combinations in eccentric holographic iridescent coatings are noted inspirations when talking school girl.
