William Giles leaves home textiles retailer, to join AZO

Nation's large-format home textiles retailer Linens 'n Things Inc announced that its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), William Giles, has resigned his position to join AutoZone (AZO) located in Memphis, Tennessee as their Executive Vice President (EVP) and CFO. The resignation is effective April 28, 2006.
"Bill has made broad-ranging contributions to the success of Linens 'n Things over the last 15 years and has been instrumental in the significant growth we have achieved," said Bob DiNicola, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer "We thank him for his leadership, vision and wise counsel and wish him every success at AutoZone."
"I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked at LNT. It has been a terrific 15 years," Giles stated. "The decision to leave LNT was a difficult one, but a great opportunity presented itself and I would like to build upon this successful experience and put my skills to work in a new and challenging environment."
At this time no successor has been named for Giles. His responsibilities have been assigned to other members of Linens 'n Things' senior management, who will report directly to DiNicola, Chairman and CEO.
Bedding, sheets and towels retailer Linens 'n Things is to operate over 500 stores in 47 states and six Canadian provinces. The business strategy is to offer a broad selection of high quality, brand name home furnishings merchandise at exceptional everyday values, provide superior guest service, and maintain low operating costs
