TC2 exhibits at ExpoProduccion for second time

For the second year, TC2 was present at Mexico’s emerging textile/apparel supplier show. Held in February in Mexico City, the show represented a broad spectrum of suppliers to the trade.

Over one hundred suppliers filled the main hall of the Mexico City World Trade Center exhibiting threads to needles, to software programs for predetermined SAMs, to all types of sewing machines and state of the art cutting solutions.

With the US as its main apparel export market, Mexico wants to maintain its position among the top ten garment suppliers. On average, every person spends around 900 USD a year on some 60 garments (2012). That adds up to about 282 billion USD at retail. The US imports 97% of its clothing purchases.

Mexico, ranked Number 7 (2012), is well aware of the importance of the US apparel market and is actively striving to regain its former luster by using speed to market, low runs and quality for its fashion-oriented clientele.

Mike Fralix, Will Duncan and I manned our booth at the entrance of the show. There were over 2,500 visitors from more than ten countries during the three day event.

As part of the academic program of 16 conferences, Mike presented “Shopping is Fun Again.” In his hour long conference, Mike touched on the need to move toward a digital supply chain if we are to be more efficient, more flexible, more sustainable and more profitable. Shopping on-line for apparel with TC2‘s "iStyling" solution is a key to this digital supply chain. Well attended by some 150 persons, Mike continues to champion the digital cause.
