Demand for attire drives Isetan Stores yield 48%

Japan's fourth-largest department store operator, Isetan Company's current years net proceeds rose 48 percent due to amplified demand for clothing.

Net proceeds rose to 18.7 billion yen ($167 million) in the year-ended 31 March 2006 compared to 12.6 billion yen last year.

The company declared rise in sales by 21 percent to 760 billion yen.

Clothing requirement led the Tokyo-based company's sales to six straight months of growth in the second half.

Isetan predicts 18 billion yen in whole-year profit on trading of 777 billion yen in the current business year that started 1 April 2006.

Shares of Isetan rose to 0.6 percent to 2,400 yen at 1:02 per month in Tokyo.
