Blacks Leisure has announced a 5 per cent increase in full-year pre-tax profits to £21.4mn on turnover up 1 per cent to £297mn. The company, which owns Millets camping stores, said that the profit increase has been helped by squeezing suppliers.
Matalan has reported that profits for the year to March have fallen from £80.5mn to £36.3mn.
Turnover fell from £1.1bn to £1.07bn. Like-for-like sales fell 6.9 per cent during the year. Much of the fall in profit was attributable to disappointing homeware sales.
