Völkl & HeiQ unveil water repellent fluorine-free ski wear

Völkl, a sports equipment manufacturing company in Germany, and HeiQ, Swiss high-tech company producing high performance sustainable effects for textiles, have together launched Völkl’s performance wear collection upgraded by HeiQ’s fluorocarbon-free Durable Water Repellence (DWR) technology Barrier Eco.

The sports equipment producing company is taking innovation to a new level by bringing its ski wear enhanced with Barrier Eco by HeiQ to the market. Barrier Eco provides the upcoming Völkl collection with environmentally-friendly, water-repellent features resulting in an extraordinary level of performance.

HeiQ’s Barrier Eco provides a unique water repellent treatment for textiles. Barrier Eco’s innovative 3D structure repels water and snow effectively and ecologically without any harmful fluorocarbons. This technology is suitable for outdoor wear, particularly jackets, pants and footwear, according to a press release.
