Textile Minister inaugurates Apparel Mart

The Union Textiles Minister, Shri Shankersinh Vaghela inaugurated the Auditorium at the Apparel House in Gurgaon, in presence of Shri D P Singh,IAS, Secretary (Textiles), Government of India.
Apparel House is a One-Stop Shop for international apparel and textile buyers and is spread over an area of 5 acres. The Apparel House includes an Auditorium, Exhibition Area, an Art Gallery and 250 Showrooms. The Project is under completion. The total project cost is Rs63.62 crores.
The State-of-the-Art Auditorium, which was inaugurated by the Textiles Minister today, is equipped with latest sound system, seating capacity of 312 persons, full fledged audio-visual system equipped with green rooms, props and stage lights.
Among the other delegates present at the inauguration were Asha Swarup,IAS, Additional Secretary, Shri Vijay Agarwal, Chairman-AEPC, Shri Rakesh Vaid, Chairman, Project Implementation Committee and Shri A Sakthivel, President, Tirupur Exporters' Association.
In his address, the Union Textiles Minister, Shri Shankersinh Vaghela said, “I am very impressed by the construction and finish of the Apparel House Auditorium. Apparel House will be the future venue for all overseas buyers and buying agents to source their merchandise. I also congratulate the garment exporters for achieving a new milestone of US$ 8200 million exporters in the year 2005-06 with a growth of 32% as compared to the previous year”.
Shri D P Singh, IAS, Secretary (Textiles) said, “Apparel industry is providing major employment. I hope that new apparel House will help garment exporters in building their brand image”.
