Exports of embroidered handkerchiefs go up

Handkerchiefs made of cotton yarn are in demand even though the price of one piece is around RMB1600.
About the high price of these sweat-suckers, manufacturers say that traditional embroidery that adorns them, makes pricing much higher than the plain ones.
Embriodered handkerchiefs are popular among foreign buyers this year and the export quantity of top-grade handkerchiefs is rising as the orders from West-South Asia have steeply climbed 30 percent.
Sadly though, domestic market has seen handkerchief been replaced by cheaper and disposable paper towels or napkins.
The biggest manufacturer of handkerchief, Shanghai Handkerchief Import & Export Company, exports 700 million pieces of handkerchief each year, but the sale in domestic market is just around 5 percent of that figure.
