In November 2004, CMRG acquired Rochester; at the time the second largest player in the men's big & tall apparel space but the premier retailer of high-end men's big & tall apparel. With the rapid growth of the "mass-affluent" market, CMRG capitalized on the opportunity to expand into this growing demographic by offering a selection of high-end apparel. Today, Rochester continues to offer a full cadre of upscale brands in big & tall sizes, thus securing CMRG's undisputed leadership in the specialty men's big & tall apparel market.

According to a study by the National Center for Health Statistics, American men are increasing in weight at a pace similar to women.
