The Children's Place declares Aug sales up 23%

The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc announced sales results for the four-week period ended August 26, 2006.

Total sales for the four-week period ended August 26, 2006 increased 23 percent to $155.4 million compared to $126.2 million last year.

Consolidated comparable store sales increased 12 percent. During August, the Company opened five Children's Place stores and five Disney Stores.

The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc is a leading specialty retailer of children's merchandise.

The Company designs, contracts to manufacture and sells high-quality, value-priced merchandise under the proprietary "The Children's Place" and licensed "Disney Store" brand names.

As of August 26, 2006, the Company owned and operated 827 The Children's Place stores and 325 Disney Stores in North America and The Children's Place online store.
