Apranga Group registers organic growth in August

Leading apparel retailer Apranga Group announced that the company made the turnover of LTL 29.6 million (EUR 8.6 million) (VAT included) in August 2006 increasing by 57.2 percent comparing to the same period last year.

This is an absolute monthly turnover record for Apranga Group. Previous best result (October 2005) was improved even by 25.4 percent.

Retail turnover of Apranga Group in Lithuania has made LTL 20.3 million, and has increased even by 66.9 percent. Retail turnover has increased by 55.1 percent in Vilnius, 56.7 percent in Kaunas and 2.6 times in Klaipeda.

Impressive pace of development and turnover growth in Lithuanian market is one of the most important directions of strategic activities of Apranga Group for year 2006.

Retail turnover of Apranga Group in Baltic States in January through August 2006 was LTL 171.9 million (EUR 49.8 million), and has increased by 45 percent. Apranga Group turnover in Lithuania within first eight months 2006 has increased by 44.1 percent in Lithuania, 53.6 percent in Latvia, and 32.1 percent in Estonia.

Consolidated unaudited profit before taxes of the Apranga Group in January through August 2006 has made LTL 6692 thousand (EUR 1938 thousand), or 2.7 times more than during the same period last year (LTL 2486 thousand, EUR 720 thousand).

This year company has already opened 12 new stores: 7 in Vilnius, 3 in Riga, 1 in Kaunas and 1 in Klaipeda. Currently Apranga Group owns achain of 60 stores in the Baltic States. Additionally about 10 new stores are to be opened until the end of the year 2006.

Apranga Group is a distinct leader of clothing retail in Lithuania. At the beginning of 2003, the company started its activity abroad. At the moment it controls 61 stores in the Baltic States: 45 in Lithuania, 15 in Latvia, 1 in Estonia.
