To form high level of managerial professionals in apparel sector, Apparel Export Promotional Council (AEPC) has decided to establish Institute of Apparel Management in New Delhi in next three months.
The Council is also planning to set up such institutes in Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad in next 2-3 years.
Providing in-house training to unskilled labour is not as difficult as to generate managerial level professionals and therefore, AEPC has decided to set up institute to produce talented professionals, Vijay Agarwal Chairman of AEPC stated.
After the removal of global quota, the US and EU markets are India's major export destinations. According to Agarwal, country should explore new market to increase apparel exports.
