Feather products to be in fine feather

China Textile Academy and FoShan Shenyu Textile Co Ltd have signed an agreement to develop feather products and to exploit feather markets through research and technological collaboration.
China leads the world in down and feather products; the annual output is around 600,000 tons. However, because of the shortage of technology, the usage rate of down and feather is very low, nearly 80 percent has been wasted and therefore, prices of feather products have been high.
The Chairman of China Household Textile Association said that if usage rate of feather and its products is increased, it would create large markets.
