Apparel exports to US & EU fall in quantity but rise in price

During January-August, 2006 China's apparel export to US an EU under quota control fell in quantity, but unit prices posted an up going trend, according to the Customs.
For export to EU, sweaters declined 63 percent in quantity but rose 91.6 percent in price; trousers fell 26.9 percent in quantity but climbed 23.5 percent in price; T-shirts descended 72 percent in quantity but raised 143.3 percent in price.
For export to US, sweaters fell 32.1 percent in quantity but rose 30.8 percent in price; trousers dropped 40.1 percent in quantity but advanced 33.9 percent in price; T-shirts subdued 74.2 percent in quantity but ascended 75.1 percent in price; bra fell 8.8 percent in quantity, but soaring 271.4 in price.
