Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association anticipated that the garment industry is heading to earn US $5.9 billion in exports by end of this year, $1 billion higher compared to previous year's exports earnings. The calculation was based on the fact that garment exports delivered $4.96 billion in the first 10 months of this year.
The association's General Secretary, Le Van Dao, is hopeful that the garment sector would have more development opportunities in the next two years.
Recognising the growing export potential, international garment and textile groups from various countries, including Malaysia, Taiwan and South Korea are planning to invest in development of garment and textile projects.
