Ex-captain of UK’s rugby team, Fran Cotton is planning to enhance turnover of his company dealing in sports and casual wear to £100 million within 2010.

Fran established his company ‘Cotton Traders’ at Altrincham in partnership with another former captain Steve Smith in 1987, gradually developing it into a big business which currently employs 600 people. He has invested over £1.5 million in infrastructure this year to further the company’s growth.

Net profit of Cotton Traders for this year is expected to reach £60 million on January 31, 2007. Additional profits of £4-£4.5 million are expected.

Of the company’s overall turnover, 70 percent comes through orders placed from catalogues, 25 percent from its 50 retail outlets and remaining 5 percent from sale of wholesale kits to major rugby teams like Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks, Gloucester and the Barbarians.

Fran, who is 59-year old, does not want to sell any part of his stake in the company, co-owned by Steve Smith.
