There is lack of skilled and commercial production of quality garments for exports, Modupe Sasore, The Director General of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) said.
She was at a two-day seminar organised by the NEPC in Lagos. Seminar was conducted with an objective to enhance trainee-machinists to embark on commercial apparel production.
This training which is of six months will extend the scope of the trainees in setting up industries and to deal with shortfall in the industry, she added.
According to her, four countries, which received textile visa earlier, have immensely benefited from the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) beyond export of apparel and garment.
