Surya Nepal to open apparel unit at Biratnagar

Readymade garments firm Surya Nepal Private Ltd is constructing a new apparel unit in Biratnagar. Machinery and high-class infrastructure for production of about 7,000 shirts and 1,200 trousers everyday in first phase will be set up at the factory.
In the next few years, company could enhance its manufacturing capacity by four times from the present capacity.
Surya Nepal will be reducing prices of products to strengthen its hold over local markets. It already exports to India and it plans to foray into markets in Europe and other nations.
Construction of the factory was commenced on January 15, 2007. Facility will be functional within November this year, according to Managing Director Harsh Madhav Dar.
