Pantaloon plans joint ventures with European companies

Pantaloon is going to enter into joint venture with three European firms dealing in menswear, premium suits wear and kidswear.
If joint venture is not materialized, company will look for licensing deal with a kidswear firm.
Company is in talks with eight European companies and wants to capture the market before it attains saturation.
This year, ETAM Future Fashions India, joint venture between Pantaloon and ETAM, will launch readymade garments for women in the 22 to 30 year age group.
In next 18 months, JV will open 42 to 50 standalone stores for the products of ETAM. It has already launched lingerie wears in three of its stores in the country.
Joint venture with UK retailer Lee Cooper is expected to do business worth Rs200 crore in two years and 200 door operations in three years time.
