Dubai Shopping Festival promotes retail business

Dubai's annual shopping and entertainment extravaganza, the Dubai Shopping Festival is in full swing, presenting numerous shopping opportunities for Ghanaian traders travelling to the tiny emirate this season.

Dubai Shopping Festival 2007, which is in its 11th year, is open until 2nd February 2007. The festival, known in Arabic as 'Mahrajan Dubai Lettasawok" was established by the Government of Dubai in February 1996 as a purely retail event aimed at promoting trade in Dubai.

Since then, DSF has become an annual shopping, entertainment and cultural extravaganza that continues to draw audiences from around the world to Dubai.

Abdullah Wahid Al Ahmed, Emirates' Area Manager, Ghana said: "DSF is an important calendar event in Dubai and has rapidly gained popularity as a major fest for shoppers and tourists from across the world. With services to over 85 global destinations, Emirates is proud to connect the world to the Dubai Shopping Festival.”

Mr Al Ahmed added: “We are currently running our Companion offer for First and Business Class passengers, which allows any two travellers flying to select Emirates destinations to obtain their second ticket at half price.

Our Companion offer presents Ghanaian travellers with a fabulous opportunity to make the most of the shopping fest.”

During the Dubai Shopping Festival the entire emirate becomes one massive shopping mall. With over 40 themed malls, souqs, well-lit streets, shops and boutiques tempting shoppers with dazzling displays, discounts, bargains, incredible offers and promotions, shoppers find themselves amidst an entertaining set-up that enthralls one and all.
