Paper fashion recreates magic of 60s!

An Athens exhibition titled 'Rip!' was organized, displaying dresses made of paper.

The paper clothes once used by poor Japanese farmers, created sensation in 1960s fashion trend.

Athens-based Atopos cultural organization has accumulated garments from museums, designers and from the large collection of 1960s paper dresses; when it made its debut on the fashion front and instantly became a craze.

The concept of exhibiting paper dress was eagerly grasped by designers and artists to recreate 1960s style. This may instill new life into the old style and help to blend art and fashion in a nice manner.

The Campbell's 'Souper dress' was on display, was inspired by Andy Warhol's artwork. The artist showcased his creation 'Fragile' dress.

AF Vandevorst exhibited his brown paper dress which appeared on the catwalk for the 2004 Spring/Summer collection and fashion designer Issey Miyake's futuristic 'Starburst' suit is made from gold foil paper.

The paper dress exhibition will be presented at London Fashion week in September and at the Luxembourg Museum of Modern Art in 2008.
