Joblessness, lack of government attention and private industrialization have made life in the hilly Bandarban district miserable.

Most in Bandarban district lead poor and tough life due to lack of any initiative to improve the condition.

The Chairman of Bandarban District Council (BDC) and local tribal kings are now paying heed towards improvement and are raising the demands to set up garment factories and investment from private entrepreneurs in the hill districts.

The garment factories will expand employment opportunities for the tribesmen.

Majority of women at Bandarban District produce clothes in handloom but they do not get suitable price because of lack of marketing. The Council hopes that support from government agencies and the business community may improve the economic situation of the hilly terrain.
