Workwear firm Alexandra posts strong preliminary results

Alexandra plc a leading UK supplier of corporate uniforms and workwear across a broad range of business sectors, announces preliminary results for the year ended 31 January 2007.
Commenting on the results,Alexandra Chief Executive Julian Budd said: “Although the past year proved to be challenging, Alexandra has emerged from it in a stronger position with two quality acquisitions now fully integrated and trading well and a strengthened senior management team.
In addition, the full benefits of the improvements made to product procurement and re-sourcing will be reflected in margins going forward” On current trading and prospects, Mr. Budd added: “Market conditions and the current competitive landscape, both in the UK and Europe, offer excellent opportunities for organic growth."
"In the current year we will maintain our focus on profit and cash generation whilst our mid term strategy is to expand further into Europe and to be a leader in the consolidation of the market.”
“Trading so far this year has been encouraging, as demonstrated by our recent major account wins, and the Board is confident the results for the year will meet management expectations.”
