Putting behind a 19-year career at world's leading retailer Wal-Mart, executive Kevin Turner has seized an opportunity at Microsoft as its new CEO.
Joining Bill Gates, Turner will surely recall his exiting stint at the retailer growing from junior ranks steadfastly to become chief information officer and responsible for Sam's Club, the company's warehouse club division quickly through the management ranks to become the retailer's chief information officer and, most recently becoming chief executive of Sam's Club, the company's warehouse club division.
Turner will oversee worldwide sales, marketing, services and Microsoft's internal technology operations.
Bill Gates, the co-founder and chairman, and Steven A. Ballmer, the chief executive head the software giant and Turner will report to them.
Earlier, Richard Belluzzo was the chief operating officer who stepped down in 2002.
