Raymond Ltd, the largest integrated manufacturer of worsted fabric in the world, which acquires over 60 percent of market share in India, plans to increase the number of its retail stores from 433 to 950 across the globe with an increased revenue from present Rs700 crore to Rs1100 crore by 2010.
Raymond exclusive brand outlets acquire 10 lakh square feet in 170 cities of the world, of which 328 are in India and 27 shops are opened in abroad.
The company also plans for future investment by increasing number of franchised stores in South Asian countries and the Middle East from 28 to 40.
Company sources revealed that in order to strengthen its retail presence, Raymond plans to focus in small cities where at present it has 76 stores with a contribution of around 12 to 13 percent to its total turnover.
Raymond, the textile and apparel major owns brands like Color Plus, Park Avenue, Parx, Manzoni, Be, and Zapp children wear.
