Samveg Lalbhai, one of the Directors of Atul Industries and former Managing Director of Arvind Mills, along with Navsarjan Foundation, has established garment manufacturing training centre by investing Rs2.5 crore.
Around 1,600 students will be trained here every year in different categories like machine operation, CAD and apparel production management.
The foundation has installed hi-tech machineries with an aim to manufacture high quality products and that the students should get used to handling sophisticated machines.
Sources revealed that the establishment is planning to set a business by tying up with retail stores in the city with around 60 independent outlets across the western region, of which 15 will be in Ahmedabad and the garments produced by the students will be put to sale.
The training center will have a capacity to produce around 3,000 pieces per day which is quite close to the capacities of any garment industry player.
The foundation, besides imparting technical and professional expertises, will also be concentrating on work attitude, so that high productivity and better returns can be expected from the workers.
