Kimberly-Clark funds to fix vandalized park restrooms

Personal care products information service provider Kimberly-Clark professional donates abuse-resistant dispensers and funds to fix vandalized park restrooms in Novinger, Missouri.

Community's Picnic Shelter to be Up and Running Again Soon.

To repair the restroom damage caused when vandals struck last month at the Novinger, Missouri, fairgrounds, Kimberly- Clark Professional is providing a year's supply of restroom products, abuse- resistant dispensers for bathroom tissue, hand towel and soap, and a cash donation.

"The damage was extensive. Commodes and dispensers were smashed," said Kathryn Magers, president of the Novinger Lion's Club. "They didn't know how we would pay for the repairs. They are extremely grateful that news of this incident reached Kimberly-Clark Professional, which generously offered to step in and help."

"The Novinger fairgrounds are a public space enjoyed by the residents of the town for so many events. They are glad to be able to help out after this unfortunate incident," said Kevin McVeigh, a category manager for Kimberly- Clark Professional, which stepped in to support the needs of the local community.

The new picnic shelter was remodeled by Lion's Club volunteers in late May at a cost of approximately $11,000 and many volunteer hours. The group added electricity, new restrooms and new woodwork to the shelter area.

The Lion's Club is a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers and fundraisers to complete its projects. The Novinger branch has more than 20 active members who contributed in some way to building the shelter.
