From August 13 to 20, Vietnam's leading textile and apparel corporations Viettien Garment and Thanh Cong Textile will tour Russia to seek partners and promote their exports to such large market.
Vietnam so far is one of the biggest exporters of textile and apparel products. However, though Russia is one of traditional market, Vietnam has failed to penetrate and grab large share, here.
According to an official of Viettien, the corporation annually earns around US $300 million by exporting to the US, EU and Japan. But negligible amount of their products have been shipped to Russia since 1991.
In the same situation, Thanh Cong Textile and Garment Company annually exports $50 million worth of its product to the US, but almost none to Russia.
During the trip, these two corporations were expected to attend a seminar named 'Trade promotion, accelerating exports from Vietnam to Russia' organized on August 16 and 17 at Emeral – Mekong Trade Complex, Moscow.
