According to customs statistics of Dalian, in the first half of this year, total exports of clothing and its accessories from the region reached US $1.18 billion, an increase of 19.5 percent over the same time last year.
During this period, exports from Dalian Customs Area were mainly in general trade and processing trade, in which general trade grew faster compared to processing trade.
Clothing and accessories exports of processing trade marked $610 million, an increase of 16.9 percent. On the other hand, general trade registered $540 million, an increase of 24.5 percent.
For exports, Dalian focused on developed countries like Japan, South Korea, Europe and the US.
Garment and accessories exports to Japan amounted to $460 million, an increase of 8.3 percent; to South Korea it was $270 million, a rise of 20.6 percent. Trade in European Union bagged $240 million, a boost of 32.2 percent and to the US, it reached $130 million, an rise of 45.8 percent.
Total export value of clothing and accessories to these countries stood at 93.9 percent.
