In June, Vietnam exported 2.2 million jumpers to generate US $11.4 million, representing year-on-year increase of 36 and 46 percent respectively.
Shipments in the January-July 2007 period stood at 7.05 million pieces for $37.5 million, up by 5 percent in volume and 20 percent in value over same period of 2006.
US remained the biggest importer of Vietnamese jumpers with high and stable growth, while exports to EU and Japan suffered slight dip in the period.
July witnessed a sudden jump at the US market, as there were 651 thousand pieces shipped for bringing in $3.8 million, recording two folds rise in volume and 79 percent surge in value, as against the previous month.
During the seven month period, US companies imported 2 million jumpers from Vietnam, totaling to $12.6 million, posting year-on-year climb of 47 and 69 percent.
US market accounts for 34 percent of whole exports turnover of Vietnam in the period.
Experts from Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade forecast that exports of such products to the US is most likely to see continued growth in the rest of the year because of increasing demand.
However, exports to EU and Japan dropped 13 and 4 percent, worth $4.1 million with 2.9 million pieces for both markets.
The reason for slump at the EU is chiefly due to sharp plunge at Germany, which is the biggest importer.
