The Ministry of Industry and Trade recently released a statistical report, which shows impressive figures of exports in September, where textile and apparel surpass crude oil to become the biggest revenue earning industry of the country.
During January to September, Vietnam fetched US $35.6 billion from exports, a rise of 20 percent from same period 2006. Figure of September alone touched $4.1 billion.
The textile and apparel industry during this period fetched around $5.805 billion with annual growth rate of 31 percent where as crude oil earned $5.781 billion.
Other major products earning large turnover include footwear for $2.969 billion and wood works at $1.710 billion.
